Oxford Brookes University LINKS
What would you do if your friend needed
first aid?
At Oxford Brookes LINKS
we go by the saying of 'LINKS is for students, run by
students'.
No previous experience required
Being a member of LINKS is great because you do not
need any previous experience in first aid. Apart from the £20
yearly society subscription fee you do not have to pay anything
more to be a member. All we ask is that you aim to give 50 hours a
year to providing first aid at public events.
Being a member of LINKS is not about blue flashing lights, lots of drama. LINKS is about developing your ability to deal with situations that you may come across in everyday life.

Oxford Brookes LINKS society can enable you to
develop first aid, ambulance aid, trainer training and leadership
skills. You'll get certificates for all your achievements and
the skills look great on your CV.
Use your new skills!
In addition, you have the chance to go out and use your skills
as either a first aider or ambulance aider, by attending such
events as the Download Festival, football matches, Six Nations
Rugby and local events.
Warren, a LINKS volunteer at Brookes University in Oxford, said:
'Joining LINKS is a great way to see the surrounding area and make
lots of new friends locally. The best thing of all is the
sense of comradeship shared with new friends in the common goal of
helping others. It's not the big things that really matter
but the small things that we can all help achieve.
'Being a member of LINKS is not about blue flashing lights, lots of
drama. LINKS is about developing your ability to deal with
situations that you may come across in everyday life.'
Would you know what to do? We would, so why not come
along and learn!
