Support Members
People who feel they are unable to
become uniformed members and provide first aid, perhaps due
to limited time to commit or fitness concerns but would
like to volunteer can do so as a support member.
Support Roles
Below is a list of the roles/areas where our division needs
support.
- Fundraising
- Public relations
- Recruitment
- Vice president
- Member welfare
- Youth Leader
- Chaplain
- Health and safety
- Supporting members on duty
- Cleaning
As a support member you will work with the Superintendent
(unit leader) to ensure the work you are planning is carried out in
conjunction and cooperation with other divisional activities. This
is also to ensure that when you're working for St John Ambulance
you are familiar with our regulations and conform with any
legal requirements, for example any fundraising must comply with
certain rules and laws.
Some of the support areas will overlap with work being done by
uniformed members so it may be beneficial for you to work in a team
with other members, a good example of this is recruitment.
As a support member you will be welcome to attend our meetings
and social events if you wish.
