Eye Hospital

The St John Eve Hospital in Jerusalem,
founded in 1882, is always in need of financial help, never more so
then now. Patients, no matter what their religion, race or
creed are treated, whether they can afford to pay or not.
As St John Ambulance Staffordshire is heavily
involved with the Eye Hospital, we are continuously seeking to help
this vital institution in any way possible. In addition to
the modern, purpose built hospital there are permanent static
clinics in Gaza, Hebron and now Anabta. There is also an
outreach programme of mobile clinics which operate in villages and
refugee camps across the whole of the West Bank.
As a result. well over 60,000 out-patients are
treated every year (including 10,000 children) and around 4,500
serious operations are undertaken every year.
