Concert Celebrates 70 years of volunteering
Local volunteers and performers celebrate
70 years of St John Ambulance in Cannock.
A concert celebrating 70 years of the Cannock Division of St
John Ambulance, is being staged at the Prince of Wales Theatre in
Cannock on Sunday 3 April. Volunteer members from the charity
will be appearing on stage alongside performers from local singing
and dance groups.
Wendy Hayward, the Divisional Superintendent at
Cannock said:
'The concert is sure to be very entertaining and everyone in
invited to come along and treat themselves, or someone special, to
an evening of song and dance.'
St John Ambulance Cannock Quad Division is an active and popular
volunteer organisation for both young people and adults from the
local area. The division also includes a Badger Sett, which
welcomes children from five – 10 years old. The members help
provide trained and equipped volunteers at events across the area,
helping people receive crucial first aid when they need it.
Although the monies raised will help with training and equipment
the concert is one of celebration.
'Over the years our division has helped hundreds if not
thousands of people gain new skills, build confidence and self
esteem and learn first aid so that they can be the difference
between a life lost and a life saved,' said Hayward.
Tickets for the fundraising concert, which starts at 7pm, are
priced at just £6.50 and available from the theatre or by calling
Wendy on 01543 675599.
