Free first aid courses

 Be the difference guide

St John Ambulance has launched a new series of free first aid courses and is keen to work with community based groups to give more people the chance to find out how to save a life. The charity would like to hear from individuals or groups who are interested in learning first aid so they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Working together

Community First Aid Project Coordinator Michael Levey explained, 'Every year 150,000 people die in situations where first aid may have given them a chance to live. We'd like to work with community based groups such as mums and toddler groups, luncheon clubs or faith based groups to get more people learning life saving skills.'

Two courses offered

The first aid charity is offering two different types of courses which deal with a wide range of emergency situations. Each course involves a large degree of 'hands on' learning. The charity's trainers have years of experience in teaching to ensure everyone feels comfortable and gets the most from each course. Funding from Stoke on Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council means that the courses are free and all those attending receive a free first aid kit to take home.
