Staffordshire urged to be the Difference

If a friend, colleague or family member collapsed, would you know what to do to help them?

This spring St John Ambulance Staffordshire is offering a series of free Community first aid courses to teach people first aid so they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Places are now being offered on three different types of first aid courses which deal with a wide range of emergency situations such as choking and severe bleeding. Infant first aid is a three hour course that deals with serious conditions and incidents involving children and infants. The Emergency and basic first aid course includes resuscitation and how to deal with a casualty of any age and with any potential risk situation.

'You never know when you may need first aid. It could be at home, at work or just out and about.  We're working to make sure that access to first aid training is a basic right. If we had one first aider per street across the country, we could make a big difference to the chances of saving people's lives,' Maureen Upton, Commander of St John Ambulance Staffordshire.

The next course is on Saturday 12 February in Stoke on Trent. To book your place call the Bookings Team at St John Ambulance on 01785 257124.
