Recruiting Volunteers

SECAmb controller in EDC

Since our scheme's formation we have worked hard on recruitment and retention. We try to involve eneryone in our work whether they are a trained Community Responder or someone who is keen to assist with fundraising.

Community First Responders

These are members of the public who live or/and work in our community who would be willing to provide a minimum of 12 hours cover during a month.  Must be willing to attend around 36 hours of training (4 days), undertake an enhanced CRB check and take part in the St John Ambulance induction programme (two days).  We are recruiting for CFRs to help us cover the areas of:

  • East Horsley
  • West Horsley
  • Send
  • Ripley
  • Ockham and
  • Cobham

Our new venture for 2010 is "The Friends of Effingham & District CFRs" .

Areas of interest we are currently offering potential volunteers as well as becoming a full CFR  are:

Fundraiser

Members happy to be contacted in the event of a street collection or door to door fundraising.

Leaflet / Newsletter Distributor

Those willing to spend an afternoon distributing leaflets or newsletters along local streets to assist us with a little publicity.

Advisor

A very important role, we need someone who can advise us and point us in the right direction when it comes to funding and applying for grants and funds in line with current regulations.

Anyone interested should in the first instance contact the Scheme Coordinator Craig Chitty via email or alternatively via telephone on 01372 458007.
