About us
Chichester is an active unit of St John Ambulance, on the south
coast of England. We have a team of over 20 adult
volunteers including first aiders, ambulance crews and nurses who
provide support throughout the city and across the
South Downs community.
Before joining St John Ambulance, I lacked the confidence to try anything new. 10 years down the line, I help to provide first aid with a great group of friends.

Join us!
If you are over 16 years old then we need
you!
Volunteer with us and gain some new skills in
not only first aid, but also in personal development, youth work
and communications. We welcome members from all backgrounds,
offering lifesaving training and a network of
friends.
On a training night you could learn about:
- sprains and strains
- sporting injuries
- emergency situations
- health and safety.
We also have casualty simulations so you can see how you would
respond to a real-life situation in the safety of a
training environment.
Within the unit, you are able to take on a choice of roles, not
all necessarily needing a uniform. These roles include:
- First aider
- Advanced first aider
- Patient transport attendant
- Emergency transport attendant
- Support member (Admin, Radios, Maintenance)
We also welcome Healthcare Professionals from any
environment.
