Bertie Badger goes on tour to promote youth volunteering

 Bertie at Coventry Cathedral

You don't have to be an adult to make the difference. St John Ambulance has plenty of youth volunteering opportunities, with our Badger setts being open to children as young as five.

St John Ambulance mascot Bertie Badger will be heading off to various locations around the West Midlands from 1 June till June 7 2011. He'll be visiting various towns in the area to promote youth volunteering and raise the public's awareness of the youth opportunities that are available through St John Ambulance, as part of National Volunteers Week.

If you would like to find out just what children could gain from joining St John Ambulance, or how you yourself could become involved in the youth work that St John Ambulance does, or if you simply want to see a large badger wondering down your local high street, why not pop along to see Bertie on Tour? He will be visiting different locations at the following dates:

Wednesday 1 June - Walsall

Thursday 2 June - Wolverhampton City Centre

Friday 3 June - Halesowen

Saturday 4 June - Birmingham City Centre

Monday 6 June - Coventry

Tuesday 7 June - Hereford

You will be able to find out all about what our youth services do, how your children could sign up as a Cadet or Badger or how you yourself could sign up to be one of our youth leaders.
