First aid communication and casualty care - resources and lesson plans

When dealing with a first aid situation, it is important to reassure the casualty and listen to them carefully. You may also need to give clear instructions to bystanders and explain the situation to the emergency services.

Lesson overview – communication and casualty care

This first aid lesson teaches students how to communicate effectively in a first aid situation. By the end of the lesson, students will recognise the importance of effective communication, and will be able to make an emergency call.

The presentation describes role play scenarios challenging students to think about how they would respond in a first aid situation.
