eBay for charity

eBay LogoYou can now support the work of St John Ambulance through eBay's new fundraising initiative - eBay for Charities.

Practically anything can be sold on eBay, so why not start cleaning out that closet and start selling all those unwanted items and donate between 10% and 100% of your final sale price to St John Ambulance.

eBay has partnered with MissionFish, a UK charity that specialises in online charitable auctions that ensure donations pledged reach the designated charity.

Items that are to be sold for charity can be posted on either eBay or MissionFish. These items are marked with the charity blue and yellow ribbon eBay charity ribbonto allow buyers to identify them as charity listings.

Before the buyer bids on the item it will state which charity will benefit from the sale and what percentage will be donated.

To start selling your items:

  • Visit eBay
  • Register for an eBay and MissionFish account
  • Choose your item you wish to sell
  • Write a title and description for your item
  • List your item and indicate that St John Ambulance will benefit
  • Once your transaction is completed, MissionFish will collect your donation (and Gift Aid if possible) and send both to us.
