The Virgin London Marathon is one of the world's most exciting and impressive sporting events! It’s a great achievement and we want to help you be part of it. With thousands of enthusiastic runners, supportive crowds lining the streets and a course that boasts many of London’s most iconic sights, it truly is an experience of a lifetime.

Most people who need first aid are not at organised events where trained first aiders are there to help them. Recent research has shown that 150,000 people die in situations where first aid could have given them a chance to live.

The funds that our runners raise play a vital role supporting our charitable work teaching first aid to hundreds of thousands of people every year, in schools, the workplace and in communities across the country. By supporting St John Ambulance, you can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Charity/Golden Bond Place

If you missed the window of opportunity with the London Marathon ballot or just want to increase your chances of getting a place, why not apply for one of our Charity/Golden Bond places?

All we ask in return for a place is £100 registration fee and £1625 minimum sponsorship.

Own Place runner

If you successfully gain a place through the London Marathon ballot, results are released in the first week of October, and would like to raise money for St John Ambulance, we would be excited to give you a warm welcome to our team as an Own Place runner.

We like to treat all of our Own Place runners the same as our Charity/Golden Bond place runners and in return we ask you to aim to raise £250. We offer a comprehensive, personal support package.
