The experience of a lifetime
With over 35,000 runners taking part, hundreds of thousands of
spectators lining the streets, and a course taking in some of
London’s most famous sights, the Virgin London Marathon is one of
the world’s iconic sporting events.
We have now filled all of our places but if you would like to
register your interest in the London Marathon 2014, please get in

We would like to wish our runners the best of luck in the
marathon – we know you will be fantastic and raise lots of money to
support our charitable work, teaching life saving skills in schools
and communities across the country.
How you can be part of our team
‘Completing my second attempt at the Virgin London Marathon was
an extra special achievement for me. The previous year, I’d blacked
out after 24 miles but two hours later, after receiving first aid
from St John Ambulance volunteers, I was able to get up and finish
the course. So it was important to me that I dedicate my second
attempt at a marathon to St John Ambulance.
The St John Ambulance team supported me every step of the way.
They regularly keep runners updated with nutritional, fundraising
and training advice as well as letting you know how other SJA
runners are getting on. It really makes you feel part of a great
BBC newsreader and St John Ambulance supporter, Sophie

people die in situations where first aid could have given them the
chance to live. Yet less than 10% of the population is trained in
