The experience of a lifetime
With over 35,000 runners taking part, hundreds of thousands of
spectators lining the streets, and a course taking in some of
London’s most famous sights, the Virgin London Marathon is one of
the world’s iconic sporting events.
By joining our team for the 2014 Virgin London Marathon, you can
be a part of this inspirational event - and play a vital role
supporting our charitable work, teaching life saving skills in
schools and communities across the country.
What it’s like to be part of Team SJA
The St John Ambulance team offered fantastic support throughout
our London Marathon experience. On race day, the hospitality
afterwards was amazing and the massage phenomenal. We were very
late getting back but people were so kind and helpful, especially
the kind young man looking after us with sandwiches and tea, the
two who stayed late to make sure they completed our massage, and
the photographer who made us feel such celebrities.
Our husbands would also like to extend their thanks to the

Charity/Golden Bond Place
If you miss out on the London Marathon ballot, or just want
increase your chances of securing a place, why not apply for one of
our Charity/Golden Bond places?
St John Ambulance still have places to give out in October
and early November 2013 of running in 2014.
All we ask in return for a place is £100 registration
fee, and a pledge to raise £1,625 minimum
Own place runner
Results for the 2014 ballot have been released. If you
have been successful in gaining a place, and would like to
raise money for St John Ambulance, we’d be delighted to welcome you
onto our team as an Own Place runner.
You’ll be able to enjoy the same comprehensive, personal support
package as we offer to our Charity/Golden Bond place runners. All
we ask in return is that you pledge to raise £250 in

How your support will help us save lives
Every year, up to 140,000
people die in situations where first aid could have given them the
chance to live. Yet less than 10% of the population is trained in
St John Ambulance believes that no one should die because they
needed first aid and didn’t get it. That’s why we’re committed to
