Include a life-saving gift in your Will

One of the vital ways you can help support our work is by choosing to include a gift in your Will. We understand that when it comes to your Will, you’ll want to remember friends and family first, but you can also remember causes close to you, like St John Ambulance.

No matter what size, every gift included in Wills to St John Ambulance can help save lives.

How do I include a gift in my Will?

Writing your Will may seem daunting, but it’s far from it. A simple appointment with a solicitor or regulated Will writer may be all you need.

Before meeting someone you’ll need to calculate your assets and deduct any liabilities (debts, such as mortgages or loans). This will be your estate.

You’ll then need to think about what you would like to happen to your estate and what gifts you would like to make. In addition to providing for your family and friends, you can also support a charity.

We would be incredibly grateful if you chose to make a gift to St John Ambulance.

To do so you will need:

  • • Our registered charity number: 1077265/1
  • • Our registered address: St John Ambulance, 27 St John's Lane, London, EC1M 4BU

What your gift could achieve

First aid CPR training£150 could pay for a training mannequin, used to teach resuscitation (CPR)

£300 could pay for a full day’s training for a group of 12

£600 could train one of our first aid trainers to teach life saving skills to others

Every year, we train around 400,000 people in life saving skills through our training programmes.

Community First Responder£1,000 could pay for an automated external defibrillator (AED) used to restart someone’s heart following cardiac arrest

£3,750 could give every child in an entire school receives three hours of first aid training

£12,350 could train and fund all essential kit for four Community First Responders, who respond to 999 calls in their community, providing first aid in the crucial minutes before an Ambulance arrives

In 2014, our Community First Responders attended 10,000 emergency call outs.

You may wish to make your gift to your local St John Ambulance unit or region. We advise in these situations that while possible, however, if the unit should disband, we may then be unable to receive the gift. This is why we recommend that you make any gift to our National Headquarters.
