How to be the difference for someone having a heart attack

SIT THEM DOWN

  • Heart attack - comfortable positionMake them as comfortable as possible – a half sitting position with their knees bent and head and shoulders supported is best

  • 999Call 999/112 for emergency help and tell ambulance control you suspect a heart attack

ASPIRIN

  • If available and not allergic, give them one dose of an aspirin tablet and tell them to chew it slowly
  • Monitor and reassure them while help arrives
