Child and infant resuscitation - resources and lesson plans

If a child or infant has been assessed with the primary survey and they are unresponsive and not breathing, they will need someone to perform cardiopulmonary respiration (CPR) on them.

CPR means giving a casualty chest compressions and rescue breaths to keep their heart and circulation going.

Lesson overview – child and infant resuscitation

This teaching module shows students the different techniques that they need to use to resuscitate children and infants.

The lesson plan is aimed at students who are already familiar with the DR ABC primary survey.
