First aid courses for the workplace

Become a first aider and you'll make a real difference to the
well-being of your colleagues.
First aid provision in the workplace saves lives. It can prevent
minor problems or injuries from becoming major ones. It can help
employers reduce costs from injury. And it is a legal obligation for every single employer
to make sure their employees receive the right first aid care in
the workplace.
From 1 October 2009 the requirements for
first aid in the workplace have changed - how it will affect you?
First aiders
Depending on the hazards and number of employees in the
workplace your first aiders will need to be trained in either
Emergency first aid at work or First aid at work - our workplace training guide can help you understand
your requirements.
The HSE strongly recommend that your first
aiders complete an annual
refresher course to keep their skills fresh. St John
Ambulance thinks that this annual refresher training is so
important we're offering a FREE annual
refresher course to people who complete the First aid at work
course.
People who work with young children
Our Paediatric first aid is for people
who work with children up to the age of eight. It meets the Ofsted
requirements for registered Childminders and the requirements for
nannies under the DfES Approved Carers Scheme.
Defibrillator training
In the UK, one person suffers a heart attack every two minutes
but the majority could be saved if their heart was shocked back
into rhythm. Our Defibrillator training
course will teach you how to use a automated external
defibrillator.
