Adult Mental Health First Aid Refresher Course
Developed by MHFA England, this 4-hour refresher course gives
delegates the updated knowledge they need to continue to
effectively perform their roles as mental health first aiders and
mental health champions. The course offers the opportunity for
delegates to renew their skills and learn new techniques to support
the mental health and wellbeing of their colleagues.
Who should attend?
The mental health first aid refresher course should be attended
annually by anyone who has completed a 1 or 2-day mental health
first aid course, within the last 3 years. It is recommended that
those who have attended a 1 or 2-day mental health first aid course
more than 3 years ago, should complete the full course again.
Please note that only delegates who have previously attended a 1
or 2-day mental health first aid course can attend the refresher
**Please be aware that this course focuses on employees
in the workplace and covers subjects that some people may find
distressing, including suicide and self-harm. If a delegate feels
overwhelmed they can leave the course at any time.
However, if you feel in advance that this subject may be too
distressing for the delegate please do not book them on without
first asking them whether they would feel comfortable attending. If
the delegate is unsure whether MHFA is right for them, please
encourage them to contact us to discuss
their concerns. For support with your mental health, please contact
Samaritans on 116 123, or NHS 111.**
