Leisure buddies
Our leisure buddies programme runs in Northumberland to help
people who have suffered an acute illness to access and participate
in the leisure and sports activities of their choice within the
community.
What does it involve?
Commitment
You can give as little or as much time as you wish, give a few
spare hours here or there or commit to a couple of hours each
week.
Role
Volunteers are paired with a person who has a similar leisure
interest as themselves and they help by befriending their partner
through regular visits.
Training
We train all St John Ambulance volunteers, you will first
receive full training and support in the skills needed to carry out
your role.
