Area Manager (Central District)

No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.

Area Managers are responsible for the overall management of a group of St John Ambulance units, ensuring Unit Managers receive support to deliver services which fulfil our vision: ‘Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them.  No one should suffer for the lack of trained first aiders.’ The Area Manager role is varied and the units that the successful candidates will manage have expertise in different fields i.e. first aid delivery, running our youth programme and delivering community response service to the statutory NHS Ambulance Trust.

We are looking for two people with operational experience in a first aid setting and management skills.  In addition, an awareness of delivering community first response on behalf of NHS Ambulance Trusts would be beneficial.  As a member of the management team, the successful candidates will also be expected to deal with out of hours calls on a rota basis.

This role is ideal for someone who has some management experience and wants to enhance their skills while doing invaluable work. This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act.
