District Safeguarding Officer

No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic volunteer to lead our safeguarding team in all matters relating to support, integration and safe working with children and adults at risk of harm.
As the District Safeguarding Officer, you must be self motivated, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with volunteers and statutory health and social care agencies.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to attend evening meetings at units and represent the Safeguarding team at the District team meetings which are also held in the evenings. There will also be mandatory safeguarding training which will take place on weekends as well as quarterly meetings with regional and other district teams.
Due to the nature of this role, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.

Closing date for this role is Tuesday 18th April and interviews will be held on Friday 21st April.
