First Aider (Berkshire & South Oxfordshire)
No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.
As a first aid volunteer you will be trained to a high standard to provide first aid treatment to patients at events covered by St John Ambulance in the community, at concerts, sports events etc. at local, regional and national level.
We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions, what you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter.
Potential volunteering locations are:
Ascot & Bracknell Adult Unit
19:00 – 21:30
Maidenhead Adult Unit
20:00 – 22:00
Reading Town & Woodley Adult Unit
19:30 – 21:30
Theale Adult Unit
20:00 – 22:00
Abingdon Adult Unit
20.00 – 22.00
The Volunteering selection event for this vacancy will be held:
- 13.00 – 16.00, 11 February 2018, Woodley nr Reading, Berkshire
Successful candidates from the selection event will be expected to attend:
- A Welcome Event, 10.00 - 16.00, 10 March 2018, Woodley nr Reading, Berkshire
- First Aider course (four days) 9:00 - 17:00 11 March, 18 March, 24 March, 25 March 2018, Woodley nr Reading, Berkshire

This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act.
