As a Fundraising Events Volunteer you can be the difference by helping us to save lives without ever picking up a first aid kit. It’s an amazing experience and volunteering can help you learn some great new skills and gain new experiences to support you in your personal and career development. Meet new and like-minded people and create a positive impact in your community. Whether you’re helping to set up cheer points, post-race receptions, putting up flags and banners or cheering on our fantastic runners, your support helps us to be the difference. You will also receive a volunteer t-shirt and light refreshments on the day.

Don’t worry if you can’t stay the whole day or make it for the start of event. Anyone can join and you don't need any previous experience. All your work ensures that as many people as possible are equipped with the skills to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. Expected time commitment: Flexible, hours to suit

WHAT YOU WOULD BE INVOLVED IN (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES) • Supporting fundraising and logistics at events such as runs, walks, cycling and other challenge events • Cheer Point - Supporting SJA runners taking part in events by cheering them on as they pass the cheer point. • Meet and Greet – You will help setup at post-race receptions and congratulate our events’ participants and show them over to our post-race reception where they will receive refreshments and a well-deserved massage, duties will include checking in attendees, overseeing food stations, helping runners & guests when required, clearing up and packing down at the end of events. SCREENING REQUIREMENT FOR ROLE (CATEGORY THREE) This role requires the following pre-volunteering screening checks: • Proof of right to volunteer and identity check.

SUPPORT PROVIDED • Event and activity briefings. • Support and guidance from the Fundraising Events team. • SJA will provide a branded t-shirt if appropriate.

OUR VALUES This role requires the volunteer to embrace the organisation’s vision and values, which are: Everyone who needs it should receive first aid from those around them.
