District Manager

A vacancy has arisen for an important and challenging managerial role in the East Region. DISTRICT 8 currently covers Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland. The successful applicant needs to be a good general manager, used to managing geographically spread teams and a range of issues simultaneously.

The District contributes significantly to the Region's performance, especially in the provision of first aid services to events as they include many events of national significance as well as large heritage of small community events, we have traditionally covered and seek to continue to do so. It would be fair to say that challenges exist in the District, and there is work to do to help mould these and embed them fully into all units and activities.

LNR (Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Rutland) is one of the largest and most diverse Districts in the East Region. With huge football and rugby events, large outdoor music festivals and hundreds of community events, there's plenty to do, and hundreds of volunteers to take care of when doing it.

Following the professional development of the incumbent we're looking for a District Manager to lead the dedicated and passionate team through the next steps of its development.

Monthly District Leadership Team Meetings (evenings) are essential, there are quarterly Regional Leadership Team Meetings, usually Saturdays and occasional national events for District Managers throughout the year. While there is no requirement to be an operational First Aider, attending events in the district to engage with volunteers is desirable, as is ceremonial events and County Priory Group (CPG) membership.
