Bariatric transport services for obese patients
Currently a quarter of adults in the UK are already overweight
and by 2050, it is predicted that 50% of population could be
clinically obese*, meaning the need for bariatric ambulances is
becoming increasingly important.
St John Ambulance has been undertaking specialist bariatric
patient transportation since 2002. In 2004 St John Ambulance built
and commissioned the first CEN compliant vehicle capable of safely
transporting clients up to 444Kg/71 stone in weight.
Our bariatric vehicles are designed to provide a safe and
dignified transport solution to those whose weight, or condition,
requires specialist transport.
