Talks and demos
Delivered by a First Aid Community Advocate, our talks and demos
can provide a general overview of first aid or they can focus on a
specific type of first aid, such as dealing with heart attacks.
Please specify in your request if there are any first aid topics
you would like the talk or demo to cover.
Our bitesize workshops are designed to deliver key aspects of
first aid, delivered by our First Aid Community Advocates. While
not designed to replace formal first aid training, our workshops
ensure more people have access to basic first aid skills. They are
a maximum of one hour and half, and will not be assessed.
The types of workshops we offer:
Bitesize first aid
This workshop will equip participants with the ability and
knowledge to deal with some key first aid emergencies.
Bitesize first aid for carers
This workshop offers carers a deeper understanding of how to
deal with first aid issues relating to the person they care for, as
well as an understanding of how to look after themselves.
Bitesize first aid for young parents
This workshop provides basic first aid information for young
parents under the age of 25, so that they feel confident to deal
with any child-related first aid situations.
This workshop will provide the participants with the skills they
need to deal with gun and knife related injuries. They will also
learn how to manage an incident and learn some of the most commonly
needed first aid skills.
This workshop is aimed at teaching common injuries or conditions
that may be encountered when someone has misused substances.
Please note that we may need four weeks from the date of your
request to arrange a talk, demo or workshop.
