St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity.
Every year, 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes, including hundreds of thousands of young people. Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities, keeping people safe at events, and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. We’re also always campaigning to raise awareness of first aid and directly educate the public.


The Role

As a charity, fundraising plays a vital role in helping us to run events, provide equipment, run ambulances and raise First Aid Awareness across communities, schools and business..

The Fundraising Events Manager will be responsible for providing strategic and operational lead on fundraising events (both locally and Nationally e.g. The London Marathon) to support the income generation. You will manage third party event organisers to maximise income from challenge events. Strategically develop the brand identity of large fundraising events, plan press coverage for event participants, communicate events to and mobilise an internal St John Ambulance audience. Strategically market event places to warm and cold audiences and deliver the fundraising events 3-year strategy and business plan.

You will also be responsible for the recruitment and line management, induction, career management of the fundraising events team, including fundraising events volunteers.

To be successful in this role you should be an experienced manager of regionally dispersed teams, who has delivered Fundraising event strategy on a national basis, successfully supported large scale campaigns and managed budgets.


This role can be either 3, 4 or 5 days a week, we are flexible with the days worked as long as events are covered and of course there will be some weekend requirement.
