Station Team Leader

St John Ambulance is a leading supplier of ambulance services in England offering state of the art equipment and vehicles, staffed by highly trained, dedicated, patient-focused personnel.

Each year we transport over 100,000 people and our high quality medical care and ambulance services are regularly commissioned by NHS trusts, private healthcare groups, local authorities and individuals.

Our ambulance crews respond to emergency and non-emergency situations and transport ambulant/non ambulant patients, whilst ensuring that the patient receives the professional, high quality and compassionate care that St John Ambulance is renowned for.

In order to ensure our crews are able to constantly deliver this high standard of care, we are looking to recruit a Station Team Leader, based in Ossett. As a Station Team Leader, you will be expected to line manage Ambulance Crews based at assigned stations, whilst supporting their personal development in order to ensure our first class service is delivered at a consistently high standard.

To enable this to happen, you will need to lead by example and have a proactive approach in implementing and adhering to all policies and procedures and ensuring that the crews do the same.

The ideal candidate for this role will need to hold a current St John Ambulance Emergency Transport Attendant/Emergency Medical Technician qualification and as well as IHCD D1 or D2 driving qualifications and have experience of non-emergency driving within a statutory service. Equivalents to these qualifications may also be acceptable. 

As this role involves the line management of crews, it is essential that applicants can not only demonstrate experience of managing people and performance, but also possess excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels. The ability to use Microsoft applications is a pivotal part of this role, as is displaying the ability to undertake audits and complete assessments.
