Save a Life September, our annual first aid awareness month

SJA volunteer shows a free first aid guide

The Save a Life September campaign is part of our push to raise awareness of the importance of first aid across the UK. It also aims to give people the basic first aid skills that you might need to save a life.

First aid demonstrations delivered nationwide

Throughout September, we will be giving hundreds of free first aid demonstrations in busy areas, such as shopping centres and town squares, all around the country. In the time it takes to do your weekly shop you could learn how to stop a friend choking or keep a loved one alive until an ambulance arrives.

Sue Killen, our CEO, said: 'We believe that no one should die because they needed first aid and didn't get it, which is why we are running our Save a Life September campaign again.

‘By holding first aid demonstrations across the country, we want to reach as many people as possible, so that more people are equipped with the skills to save a life.

‘Anyone who needs first aid should get it, and armed with this knowledge we can all be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.'
