Another successful year for our volunteers at Bingley Music
Last weekend St John Ambulance volunteers
used their life saving first aid skills to help 99 people at
Bingley Music Live.
On hand to help save lives
Bingley Music Festival is just one of the many public events where our amazing volunteers are
on hand to help whenever someone’s in need of
Once again, this year was a successful event
for both us and the festival organisers. Over the three-day
festival there were 99 people who needed help and,
thanks to our quality care, only four of these
needed to go to hospital. The rest were able to go back to their
friends and enjoy the likes of headline acts Example and Pet Shop
Boys. Fancy joining us and saving lives too? Learn how to become a volunteer.
Proud to support one of UK's 'Best Medium Sized Festivals'
Launched in 2006, Bingley Music Live is an indie pop
music festival in the small rural Yorkshire town of
Bingley. The festival is run by Bradford City Council. St John
Ambulance have been involved with Bradford Metropolitan
District Council since 2010 and have now become an
important part of the Bingley Festival Management Team.
We are proud to support this popular festival which, in
2012, was voted one of the top 10 of the UK Festival
Awards' ‘Best Medium Sized Festivals’. In previous
years, headline acts have included Chase and Status (2011),
Razorlight (2012) and Primal Scream (2013).
Michael Jackson, Regional Assurance Manager in
the North East region, said: ‘Our staff really
enjoyed taking part in the festival. The crowd was
light-hearted and friendly so there were plenty of opportunities
for our volunteers to talk with the public and tell them about
what we do and how first aid can be the
difference between life and death.'
All extra income from our event services helps fund our
charitable work. Donate to help us
build a nation of first aiders.
