Donate your socks this winter to the homeless

Can you spare a pair? The Sussex Homeless Service are in urgent need of new or good condition second hand men's socks to provide to the homeless and vulnerably housed people this winter.

Homeless people often have to walk many miles to keep warm, attend appointments, or to try and find somewhere to sleep for the night. They also tend to wear their shoes 24 hours a day, every day to prevent them from being stolen.

This often leads to fungal infections, trench foot, blisters and ulcers. The St John Ambulance Homeless Service based in Hastings and Brighton provide speciality podiatry services, which can help prevent many of these problems.

Send or deliver your socks to either Hastings or Brighton:

Hastings: St John Ambulance Homeless Service, Bohemia Road, Hastings, TN34 1ET, or you can contact Roger Nuttall at roger.nuttal@sja.org.uk for more information.

Brighton: St John Ambulance, 16 Crowhurst Road, Brighton, BN1 8AP, or you can contact Anna Bromwich at anna.bromich@sja.org.uk for more information.
