Glynn Reeve from Wiltshire
‘I joined St John Ambulance when I was eight years old.
At that time training consisted of first aid and
nursing. We used to meet in a local hall and regularly
took part in county and regional competitions.
My most memorable first aid incident happened when I was
about 18 years old and dealt with a fatality at Salisbury
A girl had stood up on a waltzer fairground ride and hit her
head on an upright beam. I was first on the scene and had to deal
with both the fatality and her friends until further help arrived.
Being able to assist others and be of use to my community
has driven me on.’
