Dr Hayley Jenkins from Buckinghamshire

Hayley Jenkins, 1980sSouth EastI joined St John Ambulance as a Cadet when I was 10 years old. As I got older I decided I wanted to become a doctor.

I loved my time in SJA and volunteered for numerous duties and I also used to participate in first aid competitions and went to county camp several times. During this time I achieved my Grand Prior award.

I got into medical school and trained to become a doctor. In that time I have tried to maintain my link with SJA, helping to teach at my local division, getting involved in bigger county duties and helping to judge in the first aid competitions.

I believe my time as a Cadet in St John Ambulance helped me aspire towards my goal to be a doctor.’
