Mehdi Foladi from London

Mehdi Foladi, 2000sLondon‘I joined St John Ambulance as a volunteer in 2009. When I was a teenager, my first aid skills were put to test when I saved my father’s life. The experience I had is beyond expression but it made me remain an active first aider ever since.

Memorable moments include meeting a mother who told me that she had decided to join SJA after seeing me treat her child in the past. Second is when a London Ambulance Service paramedic told me that I had probably saved a life when I convinced a mother not to take her asthmatic son home and to allow me to get an ambulance.

I have also assisted in recovery of many marathon runners from hypothermia and heat stroke. Saving lives while being part of the best teams out there has been nothing but a privilege.’
