‘I joined St
John Ambulance as a volunteer in 2009. When I was a teenager,
my first aid skills were put to test when I saved my
father’s life. The experience I had is beyond expression
but it made me remain an active first aider ever since.
Memorable moments include meeting a mother who told me
that she had decided to join SJA after seeing me treat her child in
the past. Second is when a London Ambulance
Service paramedic told me that I had probably saved a life
when I convinced a mother not to take her asthmatic son home and to
allow me to get an ambulance.
I have also assisted in recovery of many marathon
runners from hypothermia and heat stroke. Saving lives
