December 2010 I was at a Vauxhall Motors football
match in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, when I saw a man
collapse and rushed to his aid. He was not breathing and
there were no signs of life so I commenced CPR.
The stadium’s Medical Officer soon arrived on the scene and
administered oxygen. I performed CPR for 17 minutes until
the ambulance came.
I am pleased to say that the patient
became responsive after my first aid work. He was
transferred to hospital in a stable but critical condition.
