Training courses for the workplace

We're here to help employers meet their legal obligations, with more than 17,000
scheduled courses at 250 training venues
offering a wide range of first aid
courses and health and safety
training.
Our courses cover everything from risk assessment and manual
handling to defibrillator training
and fire safety. They will help you
manage health and safety on a practical, day-to-day level, so you
can spot potential problems and resolve them.
First aid courses
Our four-day First aid at work course
will qualify you to act as a first aider (as
defined in the Health and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981). We
also offer a two-day requalification
course to update and re-qualify existing first
aiders.
Our one-day Emergency aid for appointed
persons course provides training in life-threatening conditions
for those fulfilling the role of an appointed
person.
For qualified first aiders we offer skills update refresher courses, which we
recommend you take annually. You can also learn how to use a
defibrillator for someone whose heart has
stopped.
If you work with young children, we offer a two-day Early years first aid course, which meets the
Ofsted requirements for registered Childminders.
We also have two emergency aid courses which are
specifically tailored for those working in
schools.
Health and safety training
Our health and safety training courses will help you comply with
the latest legislation and regulations, including
the The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Health
and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Moving and handling courses
These courses, reviewed by BackCare, will teach the
correct techniques for employees who regularly lift or move
loads. These courses can be taught at your premises and be tailored
to suit your specific needs.
