About the Role

Due to an ongoing project we are currently looking for several Logistics Operatives to join our friendly, fast-paced Logistics team at St John Ambulance. Based at our Gosport office, the roles are available on both a full-time and part-time flexible hours basis for a fixed-term period of 6 months and are available for an immediate start. 

Primarily supporting our uniform supply function, this is a varied and exciting role in which you will play an important part in the overall day-to-day activity carried out by the Logistics function and work in partnership with a diverse group of volunteers and employees. As a Logistics Operative you will be responsible for the recovery, assessment, recording, picking & packing, storing, dispatching and transportation of St John Ambulance assets and consumables, in line with processes and policies. You will also support the process of disposing of unserviceable items in a safe and legal manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the dispatching of uniform orders
  • Use of computerised systems and national processes to control stock levels and ensure items are dispatched in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that the uniform store is appropriately stocked and maintained and all necessary records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Taking a proactive role in the management of items associated with major expenditure or high risk e.g high value uniform
  • Assist in the reporting of statistics and compliance as required and escalate issues where necessary, following the appropriate processes

About You

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working within a team and the ability to work on your own initiative, and ideally have experience of working in a logistics environment. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to problem solve. You will also understand the importance of excellent customer service and working with service level targets.
