Nominate an Everyday Hero
Every day, St John Ambulance is saving lives and supporting
your communities, which is why Everyday Heroes celebrates those
that step forward and make a difference when it matters most.
If you know someone who has done something amazing in their
community, workplace, or through young people, you can nominate
them today. Through their story we can inspire people to support
our work and create many more Everyday Heroes.
Completing the online nomination form
You can nominate someone for one of the awards through our
online form. Please read our entry regulations before
submitting a nomination.
Nominations are open from 4 April until 7 June
If you’re a St John volunteer, you can contact your HR team to
support you with writing the entry.
How to write your nomination
When writing your entry, you will need to know:
- the nominee’s full details
- a full description of their action(s)
- the impact that they have had.
Write your entry with a specific example in mind rather
than a list of their tasks and reasons.
When describing why your nominee should receive an award,
please consider the following points:
Make sure you describe the circumstances faced by the
individual, group, or organisation. For example, the resources
available to them, the complexity of injuries or conditions they
faced. Other factors could include age, ability, length, and type
of first aid given.
Expertise and dedication
Think about their expertise and dedication. This could
- the effect of their actions
- their demonstration of first aid knowledge and confidence
- how they champion first aid
Think about the impact that their first aid actions or
achievements have had on others and/or the wider community.
