About the Role
In order to ensure our crews are able to constantly deliver this high standard of care, we are looking to recruit Lead Crew position. As a Lead Crew, you will be expected to provide expertise in the provision of quality patient care, guiding and coaching crew in the delivery of safe clinical care.
To enable this to happen, you will need to lead by example and have a proactive approach in implementing and adhering to all policies and procedures and ensuring that the crews do the same.
The ideal candidate for this role will need to hold a current St John Ambulance Emergency Transport Attendant/Emergency Medical Technician qualification and as well as IHCD D1 or D2 driving qualifications and have experience of non-emergency driving within a statutory service. Equivalents to these qualifications may also be acceptable and a Patient Transport Attendant qualification may be considered depending on the specific needs of the service.
It is essential that applicants possess excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate.
St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, providing first aid, keeping people safe at events and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. Much of our front-line delivery is provided by our dedicated and highly-trained volunteers.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people, many of them under 18, also learn how to save a life through our training, education and youth programmes.
