Daniel Darwin from Merseyside

Daniel Darwin, 1980sNorth West‘I was among the first ever Badgers, and still have clear recollection of sitting in and learning how to put on a sling at the age of 6.

Skills learned at this tender age have a habit of staying with you. I learnt how to save someone’s life but the most important thing being a Badger taught me was an ingrained sense of duty, fairness and compassion.

Being a Badger laid the foundations for the rest of my life. Since then, I have provided first aid cover at many motor sports events including high speed motorbike, go-kart and motocross racing.

I am now responsible for all of the public first aid cover that Merseyside volunteers deliver. I hope to continue to put back into the organisation everything I have taken from it.’
