Monty Levy from London

Monty Levy, 1980sLondonOn 15 December 1982 I was the electrical contractor at the BP/Shell Oil Terminal in Hemel Hempstead. I heard that the motor mechanic had slipped and caught his arm between the rollers of the brake testing machine.

Instinctively, I took my first aid kit from the car and went to his assistance. I bandaged his arm and an ambulance was called. He was taken to hospital and I later learned that he had a four hour operation and his arm had been saved.

I was also a Deputy Operations Officer in Trafalgar Square during the Poll Tax riots on 31 March 1990. This was the most terrifying duty I have ever attended as buildings were being set on fire and there were many police injuries.
