Bone, muscle and joint injuries - resources and lesson plans

This first aid teaching module for students looks at bone, muscle and joint injuries.

This course helps students to identify these injuries. They will learn what to do to help someone with bone, muscle, or joint injuries and find out what causes them.

Lesson overview – bone, muscle and joint injuries

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to recognise when someone has a fractured bone, a dislocation injury, a sprain or strain. It will also show students how to respond in these situations.

The lesson plan includes suggested activities to teach students the RICE method for treating injuries – Rest, Ice, Comfortable support, Elevation.
