Burns and scalds - resources and lesson plans

Burns are usually caused by dry heat, such as a fire, a hot iron, or sunshine. A scald is caused by wet heat, or water.

Lesson overview – burns and scalds

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognise and know how to treat burns and scalds. They will also be aware of the various hazards that can cause a burn or scald.

The lesson plan includes suggested timed activities to help students understand what they should and shouldn’t do with a burn or scald.
