The Museum of the Order of St John tells the story of the Venerable Order of Saint John from its roots as a pan-European Order of Hospitaller Knights founded in Jerusalem during the Crusades, to its present commitment of providing first aid and care in the community through the St John Ambulance Brigade and running an Ophthalmic Hospital in Jerusalem. The Museum has been welcoming visitors for over a hundred years!
Based in central London, we are looking for a Museum Assistant to join our team. The Museum Assistant will be expected to ensure a smooth running of the shop and provide administrative support as required. This includes dealing with general queries from the public, general maintainance of the office facilities, updating the website and social media.
You must have great administrative and customer service skills to be able to communicate well across different mediums, be used to interacting with members of the public and it would advantageous if you have had experience working alongside interns and volunteers. You should have some experience with updating web content and working with social media and if you have worked in a similar environment or have a genuine interest in the museum and St John Ambulance we would love to hear from you.
The role will offer the right person the opportunity to be a part of a historical legacy as well as shape how we keep this experience relevant and introduce to new audiences.
