About the Role
At our St John Care Home, Whitstable we pride ourselves on providing professional quality care and support to our 18 residents.
As a trained Nurse joining our small and friendly team you will be responsible for leading shifts and taking care of our residents by overseeing between two and four Care Assistants on duty and distributing daily tasks to ensure professional care.
You will be responsible for administering medication, applying and changing dressings as needed, organising and attending to the personal hygiene needs of residents and ensuring reports are written into our residents’ Plan of Care as well as liaising with the relatives of residents either in person or by phone where needed.
You will also be providing advice, support and training to our Care Assistants to aid their development and ensuring quality care for our residents’ and providing a handover at the end of each shift to the incoming Nurse to ensure continuity of care.
Guidance and support will be given from the Registered Manager and Business Manager.

You must be a Registered Nurse (level 1) and passionate about the care, dignity and individuality of residents to be successful in this role. You will also understand the importance of resident care and the following of a Plan of Care.
You will be required to be flexible and will work both daytime and evening shifts over a 35 hour week.
