A quick-thinking Dorset cab
driver has been commended for saving a passengers life
after he suffered a heart attack.
Stuart Smith's lifesaving actions kept
22-year-old Aiden Smith alive until paramedics arrived after he
followed instructions over the phone after
Aiden, a kidney transplant patient who
has suffered a lifetime of health problems, is recovering in
Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
We think he did a fantastic job and hope others are inspired by his story and learn first aid themselves.

Elaine Leighton, spokesperson for St John Ambulance in Dorset,
says: 'Stuart's quick thinking and ability to stay calm when others
may have fallen apart made a real difference. We think he did a
fantastic job and hope others are inspired by his story and learn
first aid themselves. We’re working with taxi drivers in Dorset to
train them in first aid so hopefully we’ll be hearing many more
wonderful stories like this.'
