Rufus Hound joins forces with St John Ambulance to teach a lesson for life

Save a life September with Rufus Hound

Comedian Rufus Hound stars in our new video as part of our annual first aid awareness month, Save a Life September

Save a Life September is back and bigger and better than ever!

This September will mark the fifth year of our annual awareness month, and we’re aiming to equip more people with the skills to save a life than ever before.

We’ve launched a comical new video starring Rufus Hound to kick things off. The comedian stars in the video as a hapless teacher, whose lack of first aid skills not only leads to disastrous consequences but also demonstrates why everyone should learn a lesson for life.

We believe that with a few simple first aid skills, anyone can be the difference between life and death. Save a Life September teaches thousands of people these life saving skills for free, through:

  • • a suite of online first aid videos
  • • hundreds of first aid demonstrations at shopping centres, train stations, stadiums, town centres and more
  • • distributing 100,000 free first aid guides so everyone can remember the key five ways to save a life.

Rufus said: ‘St John Ambulance is a tremendous organisation and working with them has been super fun. I’m delighted to be supporting Save a Life September. Although the campaign video is funny, the message behind it is serious: it’s never too late to learn how to save a life. Everyone should find their nearest free first aid demo and learn the skills that could one day rescue someone close to them.’
