Jim Brown from Lancashire
‘I first qualified as a first aider when I worked for British
Rail in 1957 and then re-qualified in 1962.
I have always been interested in the first aid
competitions and along with many British Rail colleagues,
I became part of the competition team at the Adlington Unit.
We were a great team and had a lot of success.
I am also a volunteer for the Casualties Union and have acted as a
casualty at many competitions and also for the fire brigade and the
Doctors Advanced Trauma Life Support trainers.
I joined the St John Fellowship in 2001 and keep up with
all the news and changes to the organisation.’
