In 1981, the nation’s leading first aid charity was mobilised to offer first aid to the crowds that had gathered to celebrate the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. In 1982, St John Ambulance began offering first aid at work training after the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) introduced new first aid regulations to improve safety in the workplace. Later, in 1987, the St John Ambulance Badgers were formed, giving young people from the age of five the opportunity to learn essential first aid.
