2010sIn 2010, St John Ambulance launched a hard hitting campaign, stating that first aid is the difference between life and death.

The campaign encouraged people to text for a free first aid guide. Shortly after, the first St John Ambulance mobile phone app was created to offer first aid advice to all.

To date, there have been over 250,000 downloads of the app with at least two lives being saved as a result of its advice.

2011 saw the launch of the annual St John Ambulance First Aid Awards, set up to raise awareness of the importance of first aid.

The awards celebrate individuals and organisations, who have been the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Save a Life September was also launched and saw volunteers providing first aid demonstrations in public spaces.
