Our Homeless Service training courses
Our Homeless Service training teams offer two courses. Each course equips attendees with the skills and confidence to step forward in the moments that matter and to help save lives.
The courses are available in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex, at venues that homeless and vulnerably housed people can easily access and feel safe in.
First aid for frontline workers
Who should attend
People who work with homeless and vulnerably housed people and drug users.
What you’ll learn
This course teaches essential first aid, including bleeding, choking, CPR and the recovery position. Included within the course is specific emphasis on dealing with overdose and administrating naloxone.
First aid for overdose
Who should attend
Homeless and vulnerably housed people.
What you’ll learn
This course teaches essential first aid, including CPR and the recovery position. However, the focus of the course looks at the importance of recognising a drug overdose as early as possible and teaches how to give first aid and call for an ambulance. It looks at the risks associated with overdoses, how to recognise when someone is overdosing, and what to do to help them. Safe practice is also included.
